Believe me, I know that you are anxious to buy the 90 gallon, and you are probably thinking that a great deal for a bigger tank won't come along, but it will. Just be patient for that price you should be getting at least a 125 gallon with all the fixins. I am in the same situation as you always checking the

sites, and the local classifieds, but I know that if I wait than I will find a great deal, especially with the fact that alot of people are selling there tanks because they don't have the money to stay in the hobby, and also people having to move, and not having the room for a big tank.

yea its just the light is such a big deal ahah. i figured i could buy one new for like 900 or get a whole set up and everything. I wasted cash on a power compact and a rena xp4. Now i really am lookin for a whole new set up lol.

I don't think the $1200 deal is a good one. Check Craigslist and you'll find bigger and better systems for the same or less. You didn't mention how old the light fixture is. if it's past 6 months you'll be wanting to change the MH bulbs and actinics and that is going to burn a hole of at least $150 in your pocket right away.
You can get the same light used for under half of what the new is. How do I know... I got the same light for my 75 for $300 or $350.. can't remember any longer.

You could be good pals with him, but don't forget "why he's pals with you". The better you get to know them, the more favorable he may become with you, but he is still in it to make money.

Agreed, I would wait. I went from a 30 gallon to a 120. I paid 600 and got stand, tank, canopy, PC lighting, little giant pump, iwiaki pump, lr, ls, wet dry filiter, chiller, and a whole bunch of little odds and ends and a few things I'm probably forgetting. So IMO I would wait for a sweet deal to roll around.

Stick to what fits your room like you said. If you can squeeze a 90 in there then go for it. When you get more space you probably want a bigger one. I went from a 55 to a 120 and I love it. In the end I would love to go to a 165 that I saw but its huge and that means alot more work and more money (LR LS etc). Stick with what fits you. My 120 is PERFECT for me
