I know I have ich in my tank.

I have 2 tangs, the rest are a few clowns, and 5 damsels. Its a 150g reef. Now I know the best was is hypo or the second option is copper. But i dont want to catch all of the fish and QT them for 4 weeks. I dont really have the time right now to take care of 2 or 3 QT tanks and my main tank. I know most everyone agrees that meds dont work. But I'd like to give it a go before I go though a whole bunch of work. So what med should I go with? Kick ich or Stop Parasites?
If this doesnt work then I will go with hypo

NO COPPER IT WILL KILL YOUR REEF!!!!!!!! I am using kick ick right now. Survey says that is a 50/50 shot at doing it. Maybe Garlic too

LOL, i was going to do hypo in the QT, or copper, but most likey hypo. And if I did that the main tank was just to sit 4-6weeks without fish. Ive been using garlic guard, and some dry food that helps against parasites.

I know how you feel, and even if you put them in a QT, catching them, if you can, is very stressful to them. I have tried using Itch Attack, it's somekind of herbal remedy, it takes a couple of days to see results but it does work. You can safely double the dose and it doesn't hurt anything in a reef tank. My anemones even seem to like it. I add it morning and evening, especially evening because they pick up more parasites during the night. Remove carbon, etc. and turn the skimmer off.
If they are really bad, you might want to add a half dose of tri-sulpha and EM tablets to prevent secondary infections. I've used a half dose each and it didn't seem to bother anyone.
Good luck!

well, i read a bunch of stuff on here and around the internet. I also talked to my Online supply store guy. What I came up with is Kick ich and raise the temp to 82degrees. It wont hurt and from what I read at the least it will slow down the damage to the fish. And then I will have to QT, wish me luck ***)

kick ich it's waste of time and waste of money.
i am sorry to tell you that , i don't want to disappointed you but this the true and i test it to at the past to see if it's work or not bottom line wate of money.
the best thing is to do hypo treatment to the fish (not invert)
cooper work to and i try that to at the past the ich gone but the fish get blind...
hypo is the easy and the sefty way to get rid from ich , you need to be careful with the ph and the sg and the risk is low then cooper.
good luck

My understanding with 'kick ich' is it needs to be in the tank while the ich is in the free swimming stage looking for a host. Being that you never really know when that stage of ich is in the process I would try kick ich for 3 weeks (ich is supposed to be a 4 -6 week process).
Using it for 3 weeks increases your chance of administering the kick ich at the right time.
My tank currently has ich and I am in my 3rd week of hyposalinity and it is working beautifully though my tank is a fish only.
