I think we got ours from <a href="http://www.***************.com" target="_blank">www.***************.com</a>
same kind of set up & pricing on bulbs; but thier pricing for the retro kit was $139
of course the one you are deciding on comes w/ a reflector useful if that is how you will have your lights positioned

Good choice on the lights.
Either Hellolights or PA are excellant choices for online vendors.

Go with the shorter lights that way if you build a hood they will fit inside.
You can keep all but the most light demand corals like most acroporas

Looks like a good lighting up-grade. I run the same system but with 2 lamps. With that ballasts I don't think you can have the lights comme on seperate. I'd personally go with 2 10k's and 2 super actinics. Your options on corals would include all but high intensity...acroporas/clams......but you will be able to keep a very wide range of corals...and it is a good price. I also use the 46.5 inch bulbs ...they are much easier to fit inside my canopy.

I'm always leary of buying brands that I don't know about. I've heard people recommend HelloLights before, but why are they so cheap? The same IceCap setup would cost $350+. What gives? What are you getting with the IceCap that you wouldn't get with a system such as this one?

They are just an off brand...like buying generic cerel. Hellolights is a reputible company. I happen to have IC ballasts...but the Hello ballast is a good alternative.
Scott~
Yup buy 2 ballasts. You can buy 2 IC 440s (which are a bit cheaper then the 660s) and set them to turn on at different times. But now you are talking quite a bit more cash.

is that the only way to make that kit come on at different times, will having all 4 lights on at the same time be ok

the only bad thing about having them all come on at the same time is that you can't create the dawn/dusk effect by turning your 03's on 1-2 hours before the 10K's, exactly how much of an effect this has on the well being og your tank, I really don't know
also I heard that with dimmable lights you have to replace your bulbs more often so you are better off with non-dimmable -pretty sure about this but not positive
