OK im sure this fourm has its fair share of pros that delt with this once or twice. My protien skimmer over flowed about 15 gallons of water in my room it leaked through the wall outside but didnt leave water damage i dried the rug. Anything else i should do? My parents are telling me they want the tank out of the house and i will not do that without a fight, so if i clean it up and make it look good i can probably get it to stay. If somebody can give me advice how to keep it from mildoing up or any other damage please lmk.
Its on the secound floor of the house, location. The rug was wet about a yard long and a yard wide.
thanks im very upset with this. It was fine for 2 days the time i go to work for 4 hours it does this, i cant believe it.

every reefer needs a wet/dry shopvac even a small one does wonders
and the skimmer one mod I did was drill a hole towards the top of the collection cup thread the hole and screwa in a fitting that you can put a hose on then put the hose in the tank so it will overflow back into the tank reather than the floor

It isn't your fault. There are things that you can do to prevent this. I am trying to think of them off of the top of my head and it isn't working. Do you want to do a search on here or would you like me to?

Well, I am a female, but you are welcome just the same

It is the skimmer. They tend to overflow.

This is how i kept my skimmer from overflowing on the floor
I drilled a hole in the collection cup just below the walls where the bubbles come over and flow into the cup. I drilled the hole just barely smaller than the size of airline tubing. Do this very carefully so that you do not crack skimmer. Take about 3 feet of airline tubing and run int down into a 5 gallon bucket!

It works great, keeps the water from getting onto the floor. I tested it a few times, purposely overflowed the skimmer and not a drop on the floor.

It is my pleasure. I understand why your parents are mad and you are trying to show them that it isn't your fault. Don't go about it all attitudy. Have the information printed out and act concerned. Say, "you know what I just found out?" act shocked when you tell them

I knew someone had directions for this!! It was Alexmir! Yep, listen to what he says. I couldn't think of who it was. I knew I had seen someone tell the directions for stopping the flooding.
