I missed the "takedown". My hubby said he is fake, blah, blah, blah....That ticks me off that it was a hoax and more so that he was right! LOL. Where did he get busted, in one of his posts or another by a different member? Like I said I missed that.

mods deleted the thread but I looked under his name and his last post was march 16th??? He posted pics of desert storm and said they were recent, he said he only had 15 min of internet time but he would reply 30 min later, It was a number of things.

For anyone who doesn't know, Mike Gronholz is a Sergeant (I hope I got his rank correct) in the Marines, and was just about to get out when they froze his status and geared him up for Iraq. He has been posting here for a while.
I missed the whole JakePilot fraud post too. He had me fooled. And foolish is exactly how I feel. Mike, on the other hand, is no fraud.

We deleted all of his posts. The point was to get attention, and leaving them would have done just that. The fighter plane he posted pics of and said he was in were IDed by a "REAL" pilot as NOT belonging to the carrier he claimed to be on, and a hundred other sad facts came out as folks caught inconsistencies. Probably one of the saddest attempts at attention I have yet to see on this board. I actually hope he quit visiting, and isn't reading this....he will enjoy this attention as well. Here's a weird thing.....I actually found a copy of one of the pics he provided and claimed was him in the fighter jet....I emailed the vet who owned the site asking about the pic he had on his site, and we actually emailed each other for some time. Nice guy, and as a vet, he was amazed as well that anyone would stoop so low.

Actually nobody is perfect.....he just picked a really wrong time to do that. It actually happens constantly here....just a bad timing and wrong subject. New name and here? I don't know, and I don't believe any of us mods even bothered to follow him, but I hope if he did switch names.....he realizes what a poor choice of subjects he picked to mock. I'm probably just going to close this sometime tonight if nobody else does, but I will say.....it does happen here constantly....switched names and lying, but that one was just a bit far.....that's all......nobody is perfect, fun is fun, but have some decency atleast. People were actually dying at the time. I did trace his IP....it was coming from a town with an old base, and a currect airport.....he may have been a pilot, but his posts were false.
