Ok, posted about Cyano being caused by old lights... now, what are the effects of it?

Ok, what can cyano do to a reef tank? What are the side effects, things that can happen, harmful effects, etc?

I am not sure there is much harm to the tank except for an ugly appearance.

I was wondering if that was all. I wasnt sure if it could smother corals, or something like that.

$hi* I think I am seeing that some too. I need to get this taken care of. If my next water change doesnt work, Im getting the stuff reef fool recomended I think.
