ok, so are there any people in their mid 20's who don't have kids?

Sorry, but everyone I know has kids at my age of 25, and I'm soooo surprised. Most either got pregnant in highschool, or got pregnant around 20. Don't get me wrong, I love kids, but gheesh, doesn't anyone wanna wait a little to have kids. I think there's more to life than kids. Anyone have any thoughts too? - alison:happyfish

All I can say is wait! I love mine dearly, but didn't start until about 28. It give people a chance to mature a bit and take part in things that they otherwise wouldn't be able to with children. Like I said, they are the best thing that I have ever done, but it also brings stresses into your marriage that some less prepared parents can handle. Sadly divorce can result.:nope:

I just turned 29.....I have no kids, a new boyfriend, and I'm still on the fence about children of my own. When I think about the cost of college in the future, inflation, etc., the D.I.N.K theory sounds great!

Definately no interest in kids for another ten years! I understand where youre coming from though. Everywhere I go its the same thing. Im a little younger at 23, but I dont feel like even getting married for another ten years, ask me after that!

I'm 26, my wife is 24, and we have no children. It will probably another 2-3 years before we start talking about having our first child.

I had my daughter when I was 27 and my son at 29 .. wasnt planned that way I never wanted children, but when you meet the right person things change. I think that the best thing about being young in America is the right to chose when you want to get married, have kids .. where you want to live. It is called choice and I applaud anyone who paves their own path

I know I'm getting older because I really have a blast playing around with my friends kids. I don't want kids for a while at 23, but most of the people I know weren't exactly planned pregnancies either. I think by 30 I'll probably want them when I'm a little more financially secure and I definitely want to be married.
