I would get a lettuce nudibranch. Great algae eater. No actual downs for this nudibranch, other then if you get too many they might starve to death.
Other nudibranches eat different types of things, the purple one with the white lines eats sponges. and does have this toxin so fishes wont try to eat it.
If you have anemone you might want to becareful because mines ate both my nudis
needs to be in a mature tank, and does not do well with high nitrates and traces of copper

while at my lfs yesterday they had about 6 different types of nudi's and they were probably the coolest creatures i have ever seen.
the only problem was that it said all they eat are flatworms. Right now i am actually haveing a flatworm problem, but didnt buy the nudi, because i heard on this board that when htey die they realease a poision. (all except the letticue)

Not true , only certain nudis release bad toxins into tank, they do have a toxin so that fish wont eat them, here is one of mine I had for 7 months , then the type of sponge it liked ran out,and it dissapeared with no ill effects to my tank

here's mine, he moves around almost all day 'till 11-12am (when the lights about to go off) and then finds a spot to rest.

Hi,
I have a nudi exactly like the one in the pic above my post, and the strangest thing happened yesterday. I put him in the tank a week ago, and he has wandered all around, and then he just disappeared. While I was looking at the tank later in the day, I saw a small piece of it laying on the sand. I was totally bummed, because it appeared to be dead. Before it could be removed, my husband tells me that it is eating and moving. Anyone have any idea what the heck is going on? This little piece looks nothing like the original, and I think that it is too large to be a baby(it is about 1/4 of the size of the original one.) I still haven't seen any sign of the original.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, power head and over flow love nudi very much, so arrange your rock so that nudi can't or not likely comes close to them. I read 1 post on here that said his nudi survived after got sucked by a power head. So according to him nudi's hardy. I always keep an eye on my nudi to make sure he's not gonna get sucked by anything. when you don't see your nudi, the first place you wanna check is your power heads and the over flow. And then other things in your tank. My nudi most likely stays where it is when I turn the light off, I've observed this since I got him home. so far he's doing so good.
