OK to keep fish in sump?

Not that I intend to put one there, but you hear alot about people having fish that they no longer want or are just too aggressive.. Would it be okay for them to place that fish into a sump?
Thought this may be an easy solution for people who wish to rid their tank of damsels or other aggressive fish.
Any input?

I would not suggest this at all. Most people's sumps are usually filled with equipment, are not filled to the top with water, and are not very spacious. Unless you have a huge open sump that is filled pretty high with water, putting fish into a sump for a permanent home will not work well.

sounds reasonable to me, lol.. was just wondering if that would work or not.. trust me, any fish i get, i plan to have in the display! but was a thought for others... too many people who cycle with damsels dont know where to get rid of em at, so it was an idea.. not a great one i guess.,.. lol

It was a reasonable question. Don't beat yourself up, lol. I had to keep a very aggressive SFE in my wet/dry for a few days while my LFS made room to take him back. Most LFS' will take damsels back however with no problem.

I would think it would be ok to keep a fish in there for a short time.

Yeah, I agree oreo. Like I said, a short time would not be a problem, but it would not be a good and acceptable permanent home.
