OKay so for about three weeks now my clown fish has been swimming the corner of my tank where water flow is the greatest. I am assuming that he has som sort of respitorary problem to where he c an not breathe. So lastnight i moved my mag cleaner so he could not get in that corner so i could see what would happen. Fast forward to this morning he is just in another spot swiming and seimming and swimming. I came home from work and found him lying on the floor of my tank. If i get the net near him that is the only way i can get him to start moving around. He does not go to the corner anymore but looks lackadazical in his swimming efforts. Just now i found him again lying behing the live rock, and as i thought he was dead this time i was going to scoop him out and flush him but now he is moving around again. I have no idea what is going on or what i can do to help him. I do not want to have to flush my fish!!!!!
Thanks
Nick

water parameters are perfect. I have another clown two yellow tangs and a yellow tail damsel and they are all doing fine. It is a 55 gallon tank.

I purchased the tank off of craigslist (this is my first tank), and he was in it for six months prior. After i got it all moved in he was okay and swimming around fine. Shorty after i introduced 2 yellow tail damsels and another clown fish his behavior altered and he started swimming in the corner. I have had the tank established for two months.

it may be possible that those fish brought in a diseas that is killing the clown that is a good reason why its best to quaranteenfish first! or have you noticed those fish being aggressive with the clown? are you sure they've been allowing the clown to eat?
