Reef, you are doing it again, no matter how bad a conservative canidate is, you still take their side. You need to stop that B.S., I live here and I am well aware of Mr. Robinsons views as I am of Defazio and frankly Robinson is not the type of individual that anybody should want as someone we send to Washington to represent us. He denies everything he has said in the past because he can't defend his behavior except they are written in his own newsletter. His website does not mention that he thinks dumping radio active waste over the United State and into the ocean in dilluted form may actually be good for us or that AIDS is just a sympton of having gay sex. His claims to be a research scientist are about as valid at this point as someone looking for bigfoot or the lock Ness monster.
I would be happy to vote out Defazio because he has been there too long, but this is another of the subpar canidates that is representing the GOP this year and I guess I should be proud that my district has fielded the absolutely worst of the lot this election cycle.
But since you want a Tea Party person with an anti-public school stance, then does Angle saying that she would get rid of the Department of Education count? Surely you have heard that yourself.
Fishtaco
I went right to the guy's website, no Tea Party affiliation that I can find yet we see the typical left wing tactic of demonizing your political enemies by branding them to something you hate, in this case the Tea Party, even after I posted a link from the New York Times that mentioned this guy actually beat the tea party candidate in the primary. Also went to the Oregon Tea Party website, again no mention.
Yes, I have heard Ms. Angle suggest doing away with the department of education, just like Ronald Reagan and countless other common sense folks who understand that the federal government shouldn't be involved in local schools. This might be a difficult concept for you to grasp but what works for educating kids in Washington DC isn't going to be the best way to do it in LA or Chicago and sure as heck isn't going to be the best way to do it in Nevada or Oregon. That is the trouble with a strong central government, it doesn't work well in a large diverse country like ours. That is why those wise old dead white guys created a Federal system, so states which had a far better understanding of the needs and desires of their residents would take on as many governmental responsibilities as possible.
Now, what do you suppose is more destructive to the country, Someone like Robinson who wrote in a newsletter that after the process of human exposure to low levels of radiation are better understood it might be possible to dilute radioactive waste into the oceans without harm to people or the environment (see, I actually read about subjects I debate) or Defazio who introduced the bill to create a financial transactions tax? Because Defazio is the Chairmen of a house subcommittee who has actually taken steps to make his extreme idea come to life I would suspect that is more of a danger than a first term congressman (assuming Robinson could even win in Oregon) who believes AFTER extensive study is conducted we MIGHT discover it's possible to dilute radioactive waste in seawater without harm to people or the environment.
