What does this mean? According to Home Depot - they are having more and more problems getting Southdown Sand. My feeling - get it while you can - as it may not be around in the near future. Conjecture solely - but certainly possible.

the home depot by my house has 2 pallets of it..

i tried that with some silica sand i have and it didnt fizz, what does that mean ??? Todd
This means you proabably shouldn't use it. Although, some people dont mind it. Just make sure that it is 100% pure silica sand. A lot of silica sands have other stuff in them that are bad for a fish tank.
If it fizzez it will be, southdown, yardright, or Old Castle. Or any other argonite based sand.
If it doesn't fizz it means it is a silica based sand and probably shouldn't be used.
Just to clear that up.:D
