Old Yeller Tang & Others Who Have RE-SEALED A Tank

In April you asked about re-sealing your free tank you got from your lfs. Did you ever do it? Was it successful?
I know Mr. Salty gave us specific instructions and I am going to try re-doing the front two seals on my 44 gallon hexagon tank tomorrow (the seals are turqoise from that stupid medicine i put in there when i first bought it about 4 months ago) I am giving the tank to my sister for FW, but i want the seals to look nice for her :).
Any advice or past experiences would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
Kristen

When we first got our 125,our daughter decided to hang on the side of the tank, causing it to split down the side.We went to the lfs and got some auarium sealer and it did fine.Been sealed for a year now.hth

The first step you should take is to clean the area with a product called Absolute alchol.(100%pure)This will remove all moisture before the use of silicone. It may be tough to find, but it will give you the best seal possible.
