Omg Heart Attack

I just came in to check my fish this morning and found my little hippo tang wrapped around the intake tube..., like they do when they are sick or weak and about to die.......
I saw his gills still pumping and gently moved him away from the intake and to my surprise he vigorously swam away and went and hid in his cave. So I got some food out and he is swimming and eating heartily!! What the Heck? Do they sometimes SLEEP on the intake tube??? Man oh man I just can't believe my adrenaline rush!

Isn't it funny how attatched you get to your fish. When I turn my lights on in the morning I wait for all my fish to come out just to make sure they're all ok. I have 2 dogs and the only thing I do with them in the morning is make sure they didn't pee on the floor and then take them outside. I think my fish have alot more personality than my dogs.

i would first put some stress coat into the tank because being stuck to that intake probably stressed him out a bit. then i would look for visible signs of not doing good. also test your water see if there is something wrong with your water. i've never heard of this fish just sticking to an intake without it not dieing soon after

Yesterday found him on the intake again. I turned it off till he is stronger, or I can rig up something else. Again he seemed fine after I took him off, swimming and eating. I also have an UGF, so won't hurt for a bit to turn HOB off. Checked all water perameters and are fine.
But, he is flashing today..., saw him a couple times before, but much more today, otherwise lot of energy and eating like a pig... Don't see spots, I looked up all the reasons fish flash, thinking gill flukes... and am not sure where to start, There was also something about change in PH might make them ichy and mine is 7.9 prolly a little lower than LFS where he was a week ago.
I will dip him, my LFS said try fresh water 3 minutes and merbromin one minute...and hope hope, hope, he will be OK. This just seemed so awful to have to net him and then dip him....stress hell outa him again...but ten minutes after he was back in the tank he was gobbling up some frozen brine shrimp. What a tough little guy! I however am a nervous mess.
