I went to the LFS, and there was THIS beauty just sitting there all lonely like. The guy apparently didn't know what it was and sold it to me for 85 bucks!!
Look at my new Rhizo!

Rhizotrochus typus

Quote
"The corals in the genus Rhizotrochus, or Rhizo for short are a deep water, non-photosynthetic variety that are most commonly collected near Japan. These corals are very similar in nature to those found in the genus Tubastrea, commonly called Sun Polyps. The biggest difference between the two is that Rhizotrochus are solitary in growth form, never forming colonies like a Sun Polyp. They reproduce by budding and some keepers of this coral have reported this happening in captivity.
The Rhizotrochus will send out a root like structure from its skeletal base and attach itself to substrate like live rock. The do very well being tucked into a rock crevice or being placed in the sand. They come in various colors like red, pink, green, yellow and most, commonly, stark white.
Diet
This coral is non-photosynthetic and will require frequent feedings of meaty foods. Feed two or three times a week little bits of silverside, squid or shrimp. May be target fed brine or mysid shrimp using a turkey bastor or pipette."

Bah humbug! Anthias are sissy fish and anything with a mouth can get an anthias, lol.
I'll feed him mysis. In that pic, I had JUST put him in the tank. His tenticles are much fuller now. Boy he's so pretty.
I cannot post this on my reef club forum, cause I feel so guilty for the guy I bought him from, lol.

Too bad that thing eats fish...it would be nice...
but it is far from cheap. The cheapest I've seen was 120...correct me if I'm wrong but with this one's coloration, isn't it worth a lot more than that?

He thought it was a brain. A friend of mine at another store told me it was mislabeled and was selling it for $250. When I got there, I pointed and said, how much for the pink one. He said, "I'll let it go for $85". I all but jumped outa my skin and said I'll take it. Then I hauled a$$ home! I think he's gonna come knocking any minute, lol.
