OMG - my 180 broke tonight :-(

oh man im glad you were home hope your floors are ok. i used to work with a guy that had a 180gal. freshwater tank and it broke loose on him while he was on vacation man that was awful i felt so bad for him. imagine you have a nice relaxing vacation and you come home and the first thing you have to do when you open your door is to start ripping up your carpet and throwing out furniture not to mention the smell.

Man I have nightmares about that happening. Then I see it realy does, I will not be able to sleep tongiht.

Do you guys remember that guy who had the 540 (I think) break on him about six months ago? I'm gonna try to find the thread.

Not as bad as the other stories, but in my old place, I had my tanks in my half finished basement. I had everything plumbed through the wall, so that the sump and everything was in the unfinished part of the basement...concrete floors, etc.
I had some family staying the weekend and was trying to do the tank maintenance at the same time. I was filling up a 35gal. Brute trashcan, to do tank maintenance and forgot about it. 45 min or so, I remembered, ran downstairs and found aprox. 3" of standing water, everywhere...I dont know how many gallons of water I had wasted...took a number of hours to clean up tho.
What's even worse...2 days later I did the same thing, while talking to family. LOL!
