Float some ice in a zip lock bag.
Turn a fan on to blow across the top of the tank.

Be careful not to drop the temp back down too quickly as that can be a shock as well.

Is the temp back down now? I agree with Journey to figure out why it spiked in the first place. What kind of lights do you have? Are they new?

let it gradually go down on its own , dont cool it down with water or ice 85 is not deadly, but a qiuck drop could be. why do u think it got that high

It's probably from the heat that just hit Cali. My tank was two degrees higher than usual today.
