o.k. I was just curious. I bought one a while ago. It had 2 heads and now has 4. I thought it would grow quicker than that, but I guess they are slow growing.
Then I saw they were dificult to care for so I thought maybe they needed more care than I was able to give.
Thanks guys.

IMO biggest thing to remember about Candy Cane is they do not like flow blasting on them, other than that feed them some meaty food once in a while, don't blast them with too much light and they grow and prosper.

Now that's odd, because the site here says they like high flow and high light.
I did move them closer to my nozzle. I have the wave maker nozzle so it rotates and it's not constantly flowing on them, but I will watch them and see how they react. All their little tenticles were out this morning so I fed them some mysis shrimp.

I have always read and have kept them with medium lighting and low to medium flow. Seems as with any LPS harsh flow tends to make the tissue recede.
JMO let's see what others say.

I just set mine in a crevice out of main flow... feed it meaty food on occasion and he's happy... pretty easy coral I thought.

everyone's tank is different, so its hard to tell u when it will start to grow. when they do start to grow, it will split its head in two.
