clownfish can get aggressive. if u hv enough liverock, the firefish can always hide inside the rockwork incase ur clown does get aggressive.

Ive got a percula and a firefish in my 24. That might be a bit much for that tank, but they seem to get along fine. Firefish spends most of his time under the cave I made and the clown is usually out swimming against the current.

Well I'm glad I didn't buy it then. I don't like when fish hide in the rock. Then you can't enjoy them. When you see them in the store they're swimming all over the place and look nice.
I kinda feel bad my little clown is all alone. But I don't know what kinda fish to get. I want a pretty one that doesn't hide.

He doesnt exactly hide all day, well mine doesnt. Hes out alot of the time, but usually he just floats there pulsing his little flag on his head, checking the entrances and stirring up the bottom to see whats there.

Yea, the normal one that I have is so pretty. Half white half red. Green flourescent border along the tail, and flourescent blue rings around the eyes. Super pretty
How they act at the LFS is how they act in the tank (my firefish I got about 12 hours ago haha).

Well, I wake up and the firefish is in hiding.
Ill see how long it takes him to come out, but he found a really tight spot in the back of my tank and decided hes taking up house there. Maybe this is a hiding fish
Who knows, if he comes out Im gunna snap a few shots of him.

I almost bought one today! Just didn't have the time. I had a royal gramma I named kool-aid and I loved him, but it was crazy trying to show him to people. I'd have to take a flash light, climb on the couch and search everywhere to find him. I only saw him when he ate.

Lol haha yea thats what I need to do to find the firefish. He hasnt even eaten today, either with the clown. They need to learn that they arent getting brine every night, and fast. I think they just need to get used to the tank and the gramma and firefish will come out, because both like to hide.

All I have is pretty much a picture of mine - and once in a while I see a purple/yellow flash out of the corner of my eye. I did get a picture one day...

I just lost my firefish to ick on day 2. On top of it, hes underneath my LR. Save yourself a pain, just buy another clown or something

EDIT: I didnt lose him to ick. He like cut his stomach open on my LR. Rock mustve shifted or something, but anyways just keep that in the back of your mind if your considering getting one.

sorry about your firefish. I had another clown before, but I guess when they start deciding whos gonna be boss (or the girl
) they kinda chase each other and one of mine jumped in my back chamber trying to get away and got sucked into my pump.
Then I tried to get another one, and it had ick and died in 2 days. Plus gave my first fish ick. I treated my little fish and he is still doing great...
Now that I think of it, maybe I don't want another fish. He seems to be friends with my cleaning shrimp.

I talked to the LFS and brought in the dead firefish and they explained alot to me, and it turns out it wasnt ick. To save time typing, my progress thread is in this forum and it has it all laid out in there.
The LFS lady said with firefish, the first 48 hours or so they can be quite jumpy. They try to escape by jumping alot, or trying to fit into places they really dont fit. Thats the case with mine. It didnt have ick, but it was wedged under my LR. It mustve been trying to dig a tunnel or something or find a good spot, and the LR shifted, and splat. Its not a bad fish, but just jumpy at first. Supposedly Im one of the only guys who've ever killed a firefish at my LFS, and as far as Im concerned it killed itself!
