? on Hyposalinity

My display tank is currently fishless after a severe ich outbreak and I am currently doing hyposalinity to kill the parasites. How long can the biological filter go without fish? Will all of the parasites be killed off using this method? Should I be adding some source of ammonia to the tank to feed the bacteria population? Thanks:notsure:

Assuming you did not have any invertebrates in your tank, I would feed a few small flakes into the tank once a week. This is enough to keep the bacterial populations high enough to be able to handle the fish wastes when your fish return.
