Today I finally put down a deposit on my new 75gl tank. I went to an lfs and had them order me a All-glass 75gl/hood/stand. It is going to cost $399. It should be in on Tues. of next week. I bought most of my sand last week from ****. I am going to buy about 20lbs of live sand to seed it. LR probably in a couple of weeks. Need a little more $$$. Wish me luck. I'll keep you posted on the progress. Any words of advice or criticisms are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!!!

Does the hood comes as a package? If not, u might need a special hood for your reef lighting.Mine was wasted.

Thank to all so far. I think I'm all set for filtration. I have wet dry, a emperor 280, and a skilter 250(that I can use only as filter if I want), plus I'm going to have ls and about 45lbs of live rock to start. The hood does come as a package. It is a dual 48" bulb set up. The tank is going to be FOWLR so I don't need anything to extravagant to start. That will probably be my first upgrade, to VHO's I think. Thanks!

Hey Beth,
If you are going to edit my post, at least reply to it. :) :D ;) J/K. Question, since when can't you write the initials of the store? People used to spell the name out?

Thats great. I live in CA and you can buy glass tanks out here cheap. 160 will get you a 100 glass with hood.
I paid 385 for a 100 gal. show plex with hood. 3/8 all around.
It is really wierd how prices differ around the country on different goods.

Are you guys serious!?!?!? It is about $160 for a stand for a 75 gallon with umm...no floor or back in it. For a nice stand it's at least $400. A 125 gallon tank is approximately $300 cheapest. Welcome to Texas where everything isn't bigger, but more expensive!! lol...

Oh yeah, and this isn't including a hood either. A hood on a 75 gallon will run you about $50 cheaper than the stand. What a rip huh!?!?!

Haven't finished the list yet.
I'm thinking:
Snowflake eel(from my current tank)
Marine Betta
A dwarf lion(not sure which?)
Don't know the rest yet. Any input?
Heithingi,
I finally ordered that part for my filter. It came in today. It is actually the right part! You are a life saver!!! Thanks! :)

I went to the lfs today and found my birthday present. It's a 135 and it looks like a hutch it's beautiful it has the holes cut out on the side that you can look into. I'm selling my hutch and putting this in the dining room it will be my show tank. I live in calif and the price of this tank with cabinets top and bottom. 500.00. fish tanks are very cheap here.

Man, I live in the WRONG area!! It would have been worth it for me to drive to Cal. to pick up my tank, and drive it back. I paid $699 for an Oceanic 72gal bow front, hood, canopy, and stand. Wow I knew where I lived the prices were high, but I didn't realize that darn high!!

Hi Cruises8,
Glad you got your part! I am patiently (NOT) waiting for mine to come in now. LOL
You are going to have a very nice tank! What about a pinktail trigger or one of the wrasses? The lunare and sunset are absolutely bueatiful, plus they are fun to watch. I saw some Flora wrasses the other day, but the LFS said they were seriously mean. The pinktail is really a pretty fish too, not as nasty as some of the other triggers. Just some thoughts!
