? on the actinics for 28g hqi

hey guys,
i am intrested in getting the actinic upgrade lighting kit for my 28g nano hqi. i want to acheive the dusk dawn look.
my question is on the website it gives me the option for just actinic blue lights or the 10k 50/50 day/actinic blue.
which one would be better suited for me since i have the hqi already. the website offers the 2.18 i seem to remember reading somewhere that there was a better one like a 2.23 or something.
any advice would be apreciated thx!

what bulb you have? 14k or 20k. if you have the 14k get it. if you have the 20k get the 50/50

i have the 14k mh, so by your response i should not get the 50/50 and just get the regulars actinics

yep. the 50/50 has 10k in one bulb which is like the 14k. so the pure actinic will help the blue more

cool thx for the quick response, just one last question before i order it i notice on the website it shows the 2,18 is that the best one they have to offer cause i seem to remember reading somewhere there was a 2.23 version or somthign

whats the differnce?

not really sure personally mayby it was for more wattage bulbs i think. i guess it doesnt make much of a difference really but i tend to like to have the newest stuff if its available lol

lol. just get the actinic ones to help you with the blue look

well i wasnt gonna do it for the blue look although i wont mind it. its mainly for the dawn dusk thing to help wake things up before the mh turns on and also to help then relax after the mh so its not just a bright as light that turns on all of a sudden and also the opposite with it being like dark in an instant instead of like a sunset

if you want that. get the actinic look. the corals will love it. its a replica of the sun coming up as the water gets like a bluish look and same when it goes down

i did the upgrade for my jbj. i bought the 2.18s. heres a pic. the whole process took me like almost an hour tops. one of the best investments i have ever made..

yeah i ordered the 2.18 actinics upgrade last night, saw an email this mornign saying they were out of bulbs so i gotta wait a few days for a new shipment. DOH! lol oh well guess i jsut have to wait.
