I was just like to know how you guys prep for a water change ? I have a 130 gal tank with LR and fish . So I bought a plastic trash can , power head , heater . Do I need to run a filter if the water is going to be in the can for some time ? slime on the sides of the can should I just keep the can full ? What do you guys do ? Thanks

Put the fresh saltwater in the bucket, mix it around w/ PH, heat it up to current temp of main tank, let sit for 24hrs, empty water from main tank after 24hrs, add the new fresh water.

sounds good , but I must have a slow RO . With both my tanks 130 gal and 50 gal it alot of water to cycle for 24 hours . Someone needs to shoot me because I want a bigger tank for the fish .

I have a 110 and a 220. Heres what I do. I have a RO/DI unit in a room with 2 Brute 44 gallon trashcan. I run the RO/DI in to 1 trashcan and use that one for my top off water (fresh water) In the 2nd trashcan I keep my mixed saltwater with a heater and a powerhead to keep it well mixed. When I need to mix more saltwater, I just dip my buckets into my freshwater trashcan, fill up the saltwater can and add salt as needed. Very easy and very clean looking.
