It's on the base of the frag base of my Xenia. There is just one bubble right now. I don't want to get emerald crabs so I'd like to just remove the bubble. I understand that I don't want it to 'pop' when I remove it. So what is the easiest way to remove it without popping it? Thanks.

what if you were to get a hose and bucket create
a shipon and if it did break you could suck out the
spores. make sense?

i would do as randolph stated, or if you can, remove the frag with the bubble on it, take it out of the water completely and then dispose of the little bubble. you can normally get them off with your hands if your gentle.I htink that the siphon idea is a great one as well though!
good luck

I'd just take out the piece of rock and pull it off outside the tank then rinse it with some tank water outside the tank and put the rock back in. I've got one bubble as well and, naturally, it is on one of the rocks at the bottom of my setup. I'm waiting for one of my emeralds to get it but they don't seem interested yet. I think I'll try randolph's method

that siphon idea makes me curious about trying wet vac on the sucker. pop the hose in... get as good a seal around it as you can... flip the switch... count to 10 check it out.... anyone ever tried that?

I have a lot of this in my reef tank, but so far no real problem. I had one that grew up like a big wad of blown up bubble gum the size of a small fist! Most of them have coraline growing on them. I know they can get to be a plague, but so far it hasn't. I do have a mithrax, but I don't see him taking care of it.

Well the damned bubble was hard as a rock and I popped it. So I did a freshwater dip on that portion of the frag rock. Hopefully that will kill any/all the spores.
