Yes.
That's dedication. I don't know that I would vote the same way if my life savings were claimed in the name of progress. I also voted yes, but feel I would regret it if I had to personally give up my home.
Eminent domain is common here and people rarely get a fraction of market value. A local man offered the Vista School District 10 million dollars
to walk away from his property interest. Last I heard they were still planning to build a school on what had been in his family for generations.

Meh, it's just a house. It doesn't erase what happened there. That same house could be burnt to the ground by a fire tomorrow. The things that matter is who you have, not what
you have.
It's just like my car. I bought a brand new car in 2005. I swear this car was bound to be destroyed. It was wrecked in June of 2007 (stopping at a red light) but fixed and then totalled by a drunk driver in December while I was completely stopped at a red light. I bought a new car in January of 2008 to replace my old car. Just a few days ago, I was sideswiped while I was parked and the guy fled the scene. You can't control the things that happen to you. Everything happens for a reason though. You just gotta trust that everything will be okay.
At least they are using the house for a good cause and not to build a road or highway.

No you aren't. Mankind has more important things to worry about right now..... For instance, the starving people in some parts of Africa. What would you put your efforts towards, them, or the suffering animals?
animals. We have enough to worry about in OUR OWN country, and the well-being of OUR country depends on many of the wildlife here. Not so sound like a tree-hugger hippie or a liberal, I am definately republican, but I don't see why I should feed starving people in other countries when we have our own here.
Just wish 75% of those on welfare didnt use their checks for crack and booze

You're right, but it's still hard.

I'd rather have imminent domain declared for wildlife habitat over the Texas Motor Speedway....
Eminent domain runs amok here. A search of "eminent domain southern california" returns a list of lawyers and lawsuits over frivolous use. I did find the issue about the school and the district did abandon the effort. Evidently the city decided the property was worth more as a housing development than a school. Bunch of crooks only see dollar signs. (where's the smiley giving the finger?)
