well we spent $5000 alone on the food and photography...that doesnt include the site rental fee($2500)...her dress($1200)...DJ($600)...Minister($250)...honeymoon($2000+)...ect,ect,ect...it adds up...

congrats on the wedding
my parents want to put up $1000 for my wedding, and that just hurts, im there only daughter and im the baby of the family, i watch wedding shows religiously and it really means alot to me to have a nice wedding and when they said $1000 i cried for 3 weeks no joke and have decided that im not going to have a wedding if i cant have a nice one ill just go to vegas or something
my mother and i got into a huge argument about the amount of money they are going to give b/c my father is really big in the apple world and isnt poor by any means, and to think that thats all that there going to put up for there baby daughter

If i was in you situation i would go to vegas or reno...take the $1000 from you parents...and go on a nice honeymoon...

feeding 150? try feeding 250,lol...too big of families-but thats what happens when you have amish background
babyb...that does suck but since you know that you start saving....we are paying for a lot of our wedding as well, and even had to borrow a grand from her parents so we could take care of a few things up front, it sucks but thats life....just try your hardest to save as much as you can....we try to put some of each paycheck into a special account for the wedding...but an idea of it has to be great or non at alll...you can do a TON to save money at weddings, like the invites,programs, and flowers...hope you don't mind me adding some pics of the stuff we made..if ya do tell me and they shall be deleted..dont have a pic of the programs

something that is awesome is that me and my mother are super creative and ( if there is a wedding) we will prolly do most of it ourself

Congratulations! My wife and I will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary at the end of April.
Oh, and I WISH that we could have gotten away with only spending 10K. I think that by the time we were done with the hall ( a local public aquarium), the dress, flowers, tuxedo, photographer and everything else we spent about 20K and that didnt even include the honeymoon!!!
