I would go with a EEL.
They definetly add some individuality and charecter to a tank and they are available in so many different colors and sizes.Even the big 'ole green morays are just captivating to watch.
I dont know anything about compatability with an eel and your current inhabitants... but being a girl, and loving COLOR in the tank, I think a eel would be a definite possibility. And maybe your wife would agree?
JMO.
Actually I agree with you. My tank would be perfect for an eel right now. With my shark gone, there is nothing swimming in the rockwork in a regular basis and the aggression level should work well with my fish. The only issue with an eel is that I really want something colorful. When I think about colorful eels, I think of a dragon moray or banana moray (don't want to spend that much), blue ribbon (not a good fit in my tank) or a green moray (too big). Other than those, I cannot think of another that would be reasonably priced, colorful and fit with my assortment of fish.
Inasmuch as I appreciate all suggestions, I generally do not decide the fish I am going to get until I see the right one. I like to see the relative sizes, color and overall health of the specimens before I decide. But it is nice to have ideas prior to buying. I will be going to look this weekend, maybe I'll find something perfect then.
