Don't be concerned as much with specific gravity as with the actual salinity. Shoot for a salinity of 14 ppt. What are you using to measure this parameter? Hopefully you have a refractometer. The plastic swing arm hydrometers are not accurate enough to be consistant. Lower the salinity over two days and maintain the 14 ppt level for three weeks after all symptoms are gone. This can take a few days so don't rush it. If the salinity goes up even for a short time, you can lose the effectiveness of the treatment. That's why accurate measuring is essential.
I read your other post about using the bottled treatment. Probably a waste of money. Most of them don't work well enough to be called cures.
