if I am not mistakin I do beleave that the anemone in my 55gal. is a Florida Condi or i should say that it looks like the one they have listed for sale on this site. My question is this why are these a bad Anemone to have. Or should I say one of the Bad one's to own.
And is there any hope that my ocl. clown will host in this anemone.
thank you.

I wouldn't really say they're bad to have, unless you have specific reasons like having seahorses, boxfish, bad lights, etc.
There's hope, but you'd have more luck with a BTA or LTA. Condy anemones are from the Atlantic Ocean, clowns are from the Pacific.

Thank you for the response.
I will see about getting a Bubble Tip Anemone or a LTA. Will I have a problem Putting two or three different types of Anemones in a 55gal. tank. I am also wanting to get a blue or green carpet anemone.
Thank You agian.

Different species of anemones can attack each other and one or both could die.
What kind of lighting do you have?
How long has your tank been established?

Both of my tanks have been up for about 18 months. on my 55 which is where ive got my Anemone im running PC lighting with 8 LED moon lights at night. Do you have a better suggestion for lighting, im all ears and am willing to try any thing to help my tank flurish and prosper. ( A happy fish is a pretty fish) or so ive heard.
thank you again.

MH lighting seems to be prefered for an anemone. I think the only thing that might host it is a maroon clown but you can't add him with existing clowns. The little buggers are mean and territorial with other clows. Learned that the hard way.

If you have anything less than 4x65 watt PC lights on that 55g, I'd recommend againsn't getting an anemone. As mcsd22 mentioned, halides are prefered. You could get 2x150 watt halides and can keep not only anemones, but also clams and SPS corals.

Thank you for the info. I will look into getting a hood that is setup to run halides. Do you know the difference in the heat transfer that i would get and if I go to a halide system will i need a chiller system as well.
thank you
