One pincher

Yep, that happens. On his next molt you will see the new claw and it will be fully functioning. I have had it happen.

Sounds kinda like watching my purple lobster snag my yellow tang...

Yeah, this coral cat was swimming along just fine. The CBS caught him and started eating his face. I broke it up but the cat didn't make it. They can be nasty. He tried to catch many fish. The cat swam where the CBS could get him.

Dear hobbyist , some how my coral banded shrimp managed to break off one of its large pinchers by it self .It looked awkward for about two weeks ,then one night last week it molted and regrew its right pincher all over again . Now its doing what it does best . Eat bristle worms !

That is what they do. Other people have them without problems though.

CBS like their space and don't like to share it. Once they pick a home they will defend it. I have not had a problem with mine. Everyone knows to stay out of reach. I have a huge CBS living in a 55g with 2 pepermint, 2 cleaner and 2 gulf shrimp. They give him plenty of space. Also you need to feed your CBS regulary to keep him from finding his own food! I feed my CBS first and then feed the rest of the tank to avoid any fighting.
