well, we will see. the last time I tried to raise the I got to 6 weeks. I have an Idea for a fry tank, but need to find a cheap used nano cube. There are two major things in raising them. Food and water quality.
You have to enrich the brine so they are more nutrisious, and Keep the water very clean.
I am doing a 50 percent water change one day and completely cleaning thier tank the next.
I am thinking a nano cube with a tank divider would help keep the tank cleaner and I wouldnt have to bleach thier tank as often.

What size nano cube? I know some people over here who might have a used 6g.
On the other hand, I have a 5.5g corner eclipse I could donate if need be. Also have one of those subcurrent nano-filters - the kind that acts like an overflow, but for small tanks. Probably too strong for the kiddies, but borrowable if you need it.
And they look so CUUUTE!!!

I am thinking a 12 gal. I want to put a tank divider about 4 inches from the back. that way I can keep the babies away from the over flows to the back, put my purigen in the back, a filter sock to syphon bbs, and keep the flow blocked some, but the curved glass in the from will help the water circulate around.

right now I have a 5 gal hex and a 5 gal water with the top cut off. I like the circle tanks for water flow. I wish I had an acrylic circle with a hole in the center, so I could set up one with a sump. No room and no money, lol. I have thought about using 5 gal buckets, but I like to look thru the sides.

Well it's not a 5 gallon solution, but have you seen the 3 gallon mini cylinder aquariums that are marketed for freshwater? They were made of acrylic, so they're drillable. They have an undergravel filter with an airstone riser right in the middle, and they're lit by a LED wand from underneath. I had one for a betta for a while before I donated it to a young cousin as her first fish tank. Before I donated it I thought of some ways to convert it to saltwater: Drill a hole in the bottom middle of the tank, modify the air lift riser to act as an overflow (it was deliberately wide so you could see the LED lights through the bubbles) , and silicone the riser so it stays put.
These tanks were cheap as hell -- I think I got mine from ***** for less than $30.00. Might be worth looking into.
