Back when World of Warcraft came out I played it for a while and really enjoyed it. I found it to be very time consuming and rather addictive and in order to get a lot of the really high end gear you have to have tons of time to kill.

I was a HUGE Diablo fan for the first 2. I just saw a preview of Diablo 3 last weekend and it looks great. Not sure when its coming out though. I just dont have the time to devote to a game like World of Warcraft, even though I know I'd love it.

I play world of warcraft. I got a lvl 70 dwarf hunter and a lvl 70 pet wolf. I have top noch gear and to best and fastest flying mount in the game. I can show you a few screen shots if ya want? I got the second best bow in the game too.
I'm workin on getting the best of the best bow in the game.
I made a gnome mage a few days ago and I'm already on lvl 30 and have the best mage gear.
Having alot of friends and alot of money does wonders.

my buddy says that eve is MUCH more time consuming and addicting than world of warcraft, so that may be a bit much for me.

WoW is fairly addicting.. I played for 6 months when it came out once my neighbor turned me onto it. I quit, and then two years later restarted my account. Played for 3 months and quit again. I have a buddy who plays everyday for the last year or two and its pretty rediculous.
I would suggest staying away from WoW, just because of its addictive qualities. You could try Age of Conan, I heard thats a very good one.

Americas Army...Buy far the best first person war game. And even better the Department of Defence has released it free

I used to play this game, that is until COD4 came out, now im hooked on that. Like any game when its played over and over again, the veterans know exactly where to be and when, and also know exactly where to place a frag and when to get the most kills more often. The only way to keep these games interesting is by constantly changing the maps. Other wise like any other game it gets monotonous.

I used to play MMO's obssessively. DAoC, SWG, Planetside, Shadowbane, WoW, etc... To give you an idea I ended up selling my WoW account for 850$. I took that and bought an xbox 360 with it. Best choice I ever made, it takes a lot of will power to play these games casually and as a casual gamer you will always be at a huge disadvantage. Especially in WoW you can kiss away doing most of the game content if you don't play all the time, although leveling up and doing some battlegrounds can still be fun. The worst part of MMO's though is no pause button, you wouldn't believe how much of an impact this can have on your real life as you struggle between disappointing the people you're playing online with and doing things you need to do IRL. The only thing that even comes close to this is if you do clan style online games with set practice times and tournaments and stuff.
