You're right... We only won three previous Super Bowls in a four year span. My mistake

"we"... were you suited up???

the 2007 Patriots are not the greatest team (which is who i thought you were refering to)... and the Patriots as a franchise is probably the 5th greatest franchise of all time... but they are the only dynasty in the last 10+ years... which says alot this day in free agency... but its no becoming obvious why they are so good...

You're making yourself look like a complete fool.
A team that doesn't win the Super Bowl can never be called the greatest single season team.
If you're saying they're the best because they have 3 Super Bowl championships in a 4 year span, you obviously know very little about football.
The Steelers have 5 Championships, including 4 between 1975 and 1980. This team would have smoked the Pats.
The Cowboys and 49er's also have 5 Championships.
The 85 Bears were also a better single season team than this year's Pats.
And none of those teams were ever accused of cheating.
I understand you're a Homer, and you seem young, but come on, bring something to the table that shows you at least have a clue about football.

I agree with everything above HOWEVER the Steelers teams of the 70s are notorious roid users. Five or six players have died prematurely due to roids and the stress on their hearts.

Got link? Roids were pretty rampid in the 70's but I've never heard of such a cluster of players from a single team going down because of them.

Like the Pats or not, what a ridiculous and frivilous lawsuit, it's like filing a lawsuit for someone not getting caught for pass interference 3 years ago.

First of all, the ACCUSATIONS for cheating were for the first game of the season, Since then they went perfect through the season and playoffs until that unfortunate mishap in the Superbowl. NO team has ever done that with this many games in a season. On top of all that, any records that the above mentioned teams might have set were shattered by this years team. Plus, todays athletes are by far stronger and quicker than any players from the 70's thru the 90's. So to say that they aren't the greatest team, franchise, whatever of all time is crazy.
Now I'm terribly sorry that the "Chicago Burbs" haven't been doing so well recently but keep your chin up ... The Cubs and Bears and Bulls are really on the come-up

I beleive Coach Genius admitted to Goodell he's been cheating for the entire duration as head coach of the Patriots.
The Patriots season goes down as one of the all time chokes in sports history.
If you are going to use championships as your measuring stick for football...that belongs to Green Bay at 13.
Important note: Pats cheated for all those recent SB win seasons according to their no class coach.

Okay, since you obviously have a complete ignorance for sports, I'm not going to waste more time arguing with you. If you lived in Atlanta, you would be claiming the Falcons are the best team. You're a Homer without a clue. Boston has smart sports fan, unfortunately, you're not one of them.
Insulting the place I live simply shows that you're a child, and can't back up anything you say. Were you even born in 1985? Do you know the beating the Bears put on the Pats? Probably not. I'm not arguing that the Pats have not been good the past few seasons, but before that you have had Nothing. No one outside of Boston would ever say these Patriots are the best ever.
They didn't win the Super Bowl. Live with it. Quit crying, and trying to justify them as the best. Open your eyes and start watching sports. Start learning some stuff. You need to. That way you won't have everyone on a message board laughing at your ignorance.

I love the "today's atheletes are better" argument. Tom Brady and most of the rest of todays quarterbacks (Amd recievers for that matter)wouldn't have survived a full season playing in the AFC west in the 70's

I agree ... there were no rules to protect the quarterback or receivers back then. Once that whistle blew it was open season. Very few if any of todays "superstars" would've survived back then.

I would say that todays athletes are more specialised in their training. But because they are they lack the durability of older athletes. In football, I think you'd see some athlete fit right in, especially on defense, (I'm a cowboys fan) like roy williams, larry allen, some of the offensive line, but quarterbacks, wide recievers todays running back, I don't think they would last a day. They played dirty back then.
