So i put a canister filter on my 15 gal. tank. i'm still learning andplan on upgrading in size soon so, when i got a great deal on a fluval 405 i took it.
Here's where the stupid comes in. The bottom cap was not on the return line to divert the spray.
Long story short i blasted my sand bed and killed my arch eye and bi color blennie
. My starfish and snails are ok so are the featherdusters on the LR and a little mantis shrimp i didn't know I had. The question is how long will it take to come back from this?

I think I would worry more about the "little" mantis shrimp in your tank. It won't stay little very long, and will do so at the expense of every other living thing in the tank. Assuming that the disruption of the sand bed didn't cause your ammonium levels to rise, the suspended sand should settle pretty quickly - within 24 hours.
