Open Brain Coral

I recently purchased a green open brain coral. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these? Are they hardy and do they require anything special outside of excellent water conditions and lighting?

If it doesn't have any wounds it should do o.k. with good water conditions. It does require iodine to live. Mine was the only coral I had that died. I have some mean little anemones which came on a LR that killed it. I hear once thay eare wounded they usually die. A very cool looking coral for the reef though.

Did you have it placed in the substrate or perched on a rock?

Mine was placed on a rock about midway in the tank. The anemones I am fighting are fast movers. They actually attacked the brain a few times. I would move it and they would follow. I think they sensed the brain sliming to help cure itself.
