My black powder buck last year was taken near Kansas and it was 187 lbs. dressed, and 10 points as well. This one I was told would be 150's and the one last year I was told was 160 class.
Our Bow season started 1 Oct. and goes thru 15 Jan. After Dec. 31st you can only take Does.
Our rut has started here also and our rifle season starts on 18 Nov. So between now and then I will be trying to harvest a monster with my bow. During the gun season I will be hunting with my .308 T/C Contender Encore pistol.
Check this out.

In the county I hunt in we are only allowed one buck and two does. I always keep the meat from one doe and the backstrap from all of the deer (the best part) and I give the rest to Marthas Kitchen (a homeless shelter and kitchen).
Since we only get one buck, I always hunt for the rack. There are some years I don't even kill a buck. If it is not big enough, I let it go so it can grow up a little more.
