DO NOT USE COPPER IN YOUR MAIN TANK. You will never be able to have inverts again. It will absorb into your LR and LS and kill everything. You must take all fish out, QT and treat them that way. Leave your tank fishless for 6 weeks. Good luck.

If it's for a short time, you can keep most fish in anything. Think of a pet store that has tangs/ angels/ fw angels/ discus in the smallest containers hoping someone will buy them. They survive just fine.
The idea is to get them healthy...

Weren't you able to take them to the LFS??? I thought that was an option? Am I thinking of someone else?
That is a mighty big fish for such a small QT. I would invest some money in at least getting something like a 30long or potentially larger.
I would very strongly discourage the use of copper in the main tank. I don't think that is a good plan at all.

ophiura , after i moved them to the hospital can i use copper in that one?
or what's the best thing to do?

Copper or hyposalinity. For copper you will need a copper test kit, and for hyposalinity you MUST have a refractometer.
Please review Beth's postings in the disease section as she is the resident disease expert

If you remove all the fish from your display tank, then the parasite will have no host and will die out. But generally full QT is longer than 3 weeks.
HOWEVER, unless you fully QT any new fish and give them a full treatment of hypo or copper, then you always run the risk of introducing this parasite. Many would argue that if you do not isolate new inverts or rock in a separate tank (NO hypo or copper) you run the risk of introducing the parasite. So what you ABSOLUTELY MUST DO is indentify the cause of stress, keep on top of water quality, provide excellent food, and eliminate any other potential sources of stress.

NO DO NOT PUT YOUR INVERTS IN THE QT.
Copper and Hypo is fatal to inverts.
The parasite will die off during the course of being without fish. PLEASE READ UP ON BETH's POSTS ON THIS DISEASE.
A water change on your main tank is fine...personally I would not do more than 30% at any time and be sure you allow several hours at a minimum for your new saltwater to mix (with and airstone or powerhead).
BTW, there was **1 minute** between one post and the "answer me please" post. I do actually have a job that I am busy with, and will be very busy with for at least the next week. I may not post here much. Definitely make use of other posters, the search function, and the archives.
