Open Green Brain Coral, more success on LS or LR?

I probably depends on your lighting I have a 29 gal. reef and I put my green open brain on liverock, but not to high up b/c I have 175 watt mh. over it. So tell us what kind of lighting you have first.....

mine really loves the sand. He seems to push his base down in the sand and puffs up real good. and I don't have to worry about him falling or getting punchured.

From my experience with them... on the sandbed. They also need the room to expand.

mine is on the sandbed, it pushes down into the sand and puffs up beyond belief

same with my closed brain it love the sand bed!!!
