Glass-loved the oceanic for years and years.
Now the proud owner of a custom Tenecor 170bowfront with oak stand and canopy. Acrylic does scratch, but what I've noticed is that I really don't notice them. Only when I'm cleaning or specifically scratch checking can I find the few there are (a couple are even big ones, but they don't distract from viewing at all. I've also decided acrylic stays cleaner. I don't know how one surface would promote or repel algae really but, fact is the sides of my glass tank used to be green within days after cleaning and that's not the case with my acrylic one.

i've had both glass and acrylic.I like the acrylic much better just sems to be clearer to me . But as far as cleaner you just have to becareful of acrylic not to scratch it besides that i love my acrylic tank.
