Opinions on the Icecap T5 retro fit kit

I am looking to install these in my canopy on my 55 gal. I was thinking of the 4 X 54 kit. But I might want to go with the 6 X 54 with a few mods to the canopy. I want to grow stony corals and an anenome man I have to learn how to spell lol. Also some soft corals. Would the 4 bulb kit work. So dont want to have to mod the canopy but will if the 6 bulb set will work abd not the 4 bulb kit. Just looking for advice hope some one knows something that google dont tell me. I have herd good thigs about this set but not what you can have in the tank.

I just got the Icecap t5 retro kit for my 60g........but they forgot the power cord! HA HA!
I doubt you will fit 6, but 4x54 overdriven by the 660 should do the trick.
I found Aqua Cave to have the best pricing.
btw - I have an anemone under 4x39w

Thanks man I had my doubts on fitting 6 also. I just could not find dims on it where I did on the 4 bulb set and it will fit perfectly. Thanks again man

Each T5 should be about 80 watts so 4 would be about 320 watts of light. Should be plently depending on placementin the tank. Also have great bulb color selections.

Four bulbs will be plenty. You should be fine if you were driving them normally on a spec ballast, but overdriving them would give you more flexibility.
IMO 6 overdriven bulbs is too much.

Even with 4bulbs, watch out for bleaching!

So I guess I am sold on the ICE CAP 660 ballast and all the good stuff. Thanks for your opinions now just got to figuure out what bulbs to get.

1 Super Actinic
1 Giesemann Aquablue
1 Giesemann Actinic Plus
That will give you a nice 14K look

Dose that make the color of the fish an dstuff stand out. I noticed from some pics of t5's the color of the tanks look amazing. Slight blue tint not to much

. I was also thinking of making a strip of moon lights in the tank aswell. I think I should have enough room cuz they shouldnt take up much room in there.
