Very nice tank!
I like all the purple coralline you have growing there. How long has it been set up?

it has been set up for some time now as a 75 gallon but I transfereed everything over to the 150 after all readings were acceptable (waited about a month... Hardest thing I ever had to do) and it has been doing well for just over a month now, I took out the crush coral and brought in 200 lbs of live sand and I am loving it. The coraline is growing nicely I love that part also I will keep eveyone informed as the tank progresses. Thanks I hope the others agree with you. I did not know how best to do the transfer so I decided to basically run the setup let it cycle and then transfer the rock small bits at a time until all gone and then add the inverts and then the fish and coral, so far so good hope everything continues fine. Again thanks

Very nice looking system. I've been considering a 150 for a long time now. The top three on my list is a 150...180...and 180 bow. Currently I'm leaning towards the Oceanic 180 bow/reef ready.
I really like the look of yours...so don't post any more pics or you'll force me to once again change my mind!

thanks guys, I have been around here listening to everyones experience and I finally decided to do a big tank and I got a deal on the 150 from a friend and I searched for tons of DIY stuff that I can attempt on my own and here it is almost finished.
Thanks Nmreef I really appreciate your comments, Jon the overflow box ended up being "cockeyed" in the picture because I was trying to move a HOB skimmer and I accidently pushed down that side of the overflow box, I would not of noticed unless you said something so thanks.
I am running all VHO lights actually right now six of them I am waiting the arrival of two more so that I will have 1100w over the 150! I just have to wait and see how the money flows from the wife so that I can do this.
Right now there are six VHO bulb above the tank 4 actinic and 2 daylights. Again thank you guys for your comments

wow 1100 watts of vho! thats pretty badass...how are you cramming all that into the canopy! id like to see pics!
good luck
jon

Jon thats what I am aiming for right now there is only 660w up there. I did some creative math and spaced the vho bulbs by staggering them leaving an area that later on I can add some 24 inchers when I am ready I will attach a picture tonight. Thanks again.

Jon I just went with what I had on hand at the time I would love to go Halides in teh near future but the wife has the check books since my last episode in the fish store.:D
Also once we secure our house I plan to turn the basement into a fish room and entertainment room.

jonthefb, i can probably answer that one, I have pretty close to the same system but with a 180. He probably has an acrylic canopy, not to mention not much room, but the halides would get way to hot underneath unless you had the light raised from the tank!
Also, caribbean guy, that look like a fish only tank from far away, if it is, why do you have so much light?
Nevertheless, it does look great!!

The set up looks great, and you have a abundance of coraline growth. IMO I would have loaded it up with more live rock

actually cadbury itis a reef in the beginning stages, I already have coral in there the pictures do not really do it justice, there are ricordea as well as zoos and shrooms in there and a bubble coral and capnella and a brain (from Leigh) as well as frogspawn and a torch, hopefully I can get some better pictures that will do this system justice. As for the canopy it is not acrylic it is actually wood and I had a few ideas aboutdoing the acrylic but I went this way to keep costs down. The setup will eventually have the 24 inchers in there and yes there would not be much room for anything else, next on the to do list is the moonlights. Thanks again for the kind gestures.

Nerdy they will be more rock added pretty soon I already have over 220 lbs or rock in there. I want to add a few more pieces and then start adding the corals around them. Thanks for the comments
