Opps

Had a boo boo last night. Added some chemi clean for the red slime i had in the tank, then went to take a nap for a hour. Well I didnt realize the chemi clean would make my skimmer go nuts. Lets just say that the output from the skimmer was going to a 1 gallon jug and the jug overflowed 11 times emptying out my sump before i woke from my nap. :(

LOL thanks Bob, I was kicking around the idea of plumbing my "yet to be built" skimmer overflow into the waste water line, you just conviced me that this is a good idea after all
"gee honey, didn't I tell you about the extra hole I was drilling in the wall? oops, don't worry the florida bugs won't fit through!"

haha I did that to. You gotta turn skimmer off when using CHEMI-CLEAN or just remove the cup so it dosent collect.

nah no losses as of yet, but i dont think i had enough chemi clean for the 120 gallons. I only had a small bottle (free sample) laying around and didnt know what it was for until yesterday when i read it takes the slime away. Ill see today when i go home if it actually did anything. I didnt have much red slime but i have this problem with the very hard green algae on the glass. I scraped most of it off yesterday but it made a complete mess out of the tank and on top of the water problem the whole thing was just a big mess. I wonder why that stuff makes the skimmer go CRAZY

Oops,......... I think everyone knows that feeling.
Everyone has done something like that before. After all you can't call yourself an experenced reef aquariest until you've made a dumb dumb mistake. Now your one step closer.
