Orange cup coral & light

I know that these don't require much light, but will light bother them?
Ie., I want to put them out whereI can feed/see them instead of in a cave.
I have been feeding whith cyclopeeze in a 2 liter bottle. I have to handle the coral each time, and I know that isn't good.

No the light will not hurt them, they are light agnostic (they don't care). I have two tubistrae and they are both in the open and get lots of light. They are both positioned half way up in the tank in full light, and they are growing and healthy. I would not place them right at the top of the tank under MH or anything like that, but otherwise you should be ok (what type of lighting do you have?)
In fact, IMHO it is easier to feed them when they are placed in the open ratehr than if they are placed in a cave.
I would however stop handling the coral. Choose a spot with good flow, and leave the coral there. The bottle (I assume the bottom is cut off and you place the bottle over them) helps with the feeding. When I feed, I turn off the power heads, feed them with a baster, and I use the bottle if my fish are trying to steal the food. Again, if they are in the open, it is easy to feed them without handling the coral (which I am sure is far better for the coral).

I am going to place them in the shadow of the center brace of my tank.
I have 2x 250 watt MH, but with the stuff (food, additives,etc.) of the brace, it is somewhat shaded there
I had them on the sand bed in a cave, but they are nearly impossible to feed there, hence the moving by hand.
Oddly enough, they seem to have associated movement to be a dinner bell. They begin to come out as soon as I move them.:yes:
