Orange Linkia or Red Serpent Star?

neither, red serpents hide all day, and orange linkias aren't the easiest to keep. Go with a marble star. For some reason it doesn't seem that a lot of people here keep starfish, I think they're the neatest thing to watch in a tank. Marbles, move around a lot, and they're much better looking.:D FYI, you gotta have an established tank with LR to keep a marble star. That goes for linkias too. Serpents are cleaners, and will eat leftover food.

well.. that's the nature of a serpent star.. They will hide... I personally think that a serpent star is a better choice.. Like Golden said, the linkia's dont have the best survival rate.. A serpent star will also help in keeping ur levels in check as well.. If a fish dies, and u can not get to it, or dont notice, the serpent is going to take care of that for ya.... No worries, he'll eat it, linkia's dont do that, they are bacterial film grazers... So I voted for serpent star..

I should've mentioned, that I also have a serpent star in my tank. I only see it once a month or so, but it does clean up stuff, I guess. So I guess I'll vote serpent as well. But how bout' a tiger serpent instead?

Thanks for everyone's answers. I am thinking about getting an Orange Sea Star not a linkia now (I did say linkia in the poll because SWF had them on sale). Can I keep an Orange Sea Star and a Serpent star in the same tank. They eat different things so they wouldn't be competing for food. Thanks again.

Goldenboy, I'm totally widju. Stars are killer to watch, but it seems that no one keeps them!? Why? :notsure:
bsktmom, I had no luck with a blue linkia. I had a ton of algae too. Also, I haven't gotten very much feedback from this site. You might (it hurts me to say this) try another BB.

the red serpents are cool. it will hide, but will come out at night and when feeding. i've kept a banded serpent for about 6 months. i feed him a shrimp pellet about every 5 days or so. he also will eat leftover food. it seems like very few have kept a linkia for an extended period. hope this helps.
