orange linkia question

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about orange linkias? This site lists them as easy to care for but I was under the impression that linkias were very difficult to keep.

IMO the key is how well your tank in established. I have a blue linka for 2 years now and I have a ton of LR. I am also lucky enough to be able to get mine to spot feed once in a while (when no fish steal his food). I have had a kalkwasser accident in the past and my tank was over kalked along with my SG dropping from all extra water and this guy survived it all. I had other fish die and nothing happened to my linka. I think once you get it acclimated properly to you tank and you have enough food for it to eat it should be fine.

On this site, they sell the orange linka. The size says 3". Does that mean the size they are when you buy them, or their mature size?

NO Linckia should be considered "EASY" to keep under any circumstances!!!!!
That is definitely not true, IMO.
They need a large, established tank with pristine water parameters, long acclimation and loads of LR for best results. This is not to say there are not EXCEPTIONS to this, but the fact is that most Linckia will die either of acclimation shock of of starvation within a year. Don't count on getting the exception.
I wrote a piece on these animals in the archive section:
https://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/showthread.php?t=180778
Seastars Part 1 is specific to Linckia sp. stars.
You should start with listing your tank parameters, age, etc, etc to determine if you have the minimums.
