Orange spotted goby

I am worried that my orange spot goby may have jumped ship
I got him saturday and the other tank mates seemed to have picked on him just a little. Although he found some good hiding places I have not seen him at all today! If he would have jumped out of the tank either of my dogs would have ate him up in a heartbeat. I am worried guys! I hope my goby is alright.

These guys are fairly bulletproof. The first 3 days I had mine, he was completely hidden. A week later he jumped into the overflow. I figured he was just hiding somewhere until I stuck my hand in. I felt a dead fish body, then all of a sudden it started wiggling. I put it back in the DT and fed it. He is still alive today almost a year later and he has been eating great. He is visible all day and hides god knows where at night.
Don't fret. I don't think the dog would've eaten it. Check your overflow and keep an eye out.
Good luck.

Well no signs of him in the sump. Although, I do recall seeing a sandstorm this morning when I turned the lights on. Typically my emerald crab moves a little sand around but this cloud was much bigger. Thanks for the kind words of advice! He is probably just burried somewhere out of sight trying to get used to everything. I will keep my eyes open for him over the next couple days.

UPDATE
While I was reading the forums I noticed a sandstorm in my tank. Behold my goby came out for about 30 seconds only to be chased around a little by my six line. As fast as he appeared he vanished again. Atleast I know he is alright.

That's good.
I hope he adapts and does well for you. They are awesome and beautiful fish!

Once I got my organe spotted goby, it took 2 weeks for me to find him. I thought he was dead that whole time.
I've had him a month now, and he's just starting to get comfortable coming out in the day, but not too far from his cave. Same here, the six-line chases him back into the cave every minute or so. Pretty funny!

I am glad to see similar characteristics with other members gobies. Makes me feel a lot better
