I just got my order from saltwaterfish.com. It consists of 10 nassarius snails, 10 turbo snails, 10 hermit crabs, 3 sally lightfoot crabs, and 2 wild percula clownfish.
The snails are not in water it says to float for 30 minutes and let go into tank. The hermit crabs are the same way. Is this okay?
I had to put the sally lightfoot crabs together in a 5gal bucket because I had no other aquarium safe container. They seemed to fight at first but now have settled down. It says to drip acclimate them for 1 hour. Is this okay?
My biggest problem is w/ my percula clownfish. After returning home from work I noticed my QT tank's temp had jump from 78 degrees to 89 degrees. I think my heater took a crapper. I decided to acclimate them to my DT. They will be the first fish in my DT. If they get sick I will have to wait 8 weeks before introducing another fish to the tank, right? I have some seachem paraguard that has instructions for dipping. Should I try this or not?

Ok, now just follow the directions, and hopefully everything will be alright. If the fish get sick handle it then. For now follow the directions SWF.com has given you and keep going. Yes the QT would of been better, but oh well stuff happens. Clowns can take a small beating so it should be ok.

Sorry to much coffee today. The clowns are very active in the bucket that is a good sign. Just getting ready to let the snails and crabs go.

Since you had no fish in your DT you should be fine. Most people will tell you that your first fish can go right into the DT and a QT is not needed until you get more fish. You should wait 2 or 3 weeks before you add more fish anyways so your ok. In fact since you have the fish in DT you can now get one to QT for 2 or 3 weeks but make sure you replace that capped out heater.
