Yeah - Shark or rays with Puffers & triggers is a bad idea. And Lions with sharks or rays isn't a great idea either.
So you'll really need to pick which is that you want to have. The shark & ray or the trigger, puffer & lion.
Still with a 300 gallon tank - you will eventually need a larger tank or pond for the bamboo shark.

IMO & IME, purple tangs are tough, rather easy fish. They, and many other tangs are capable of taking care of themselves very well. My sohal tang is one of the most assertive fish I've ever owned. Also, nitrates, unless off the charts will not hurt fish at all. Inverts, yes, but not fish. I also agree with Harlequin on the shark subject. I know very little about them, but everything I've read & heard over the years suggests they should be kept by themselves. Yeah, I know there are exceptions.
