Ordering fish from this site

I would like to order 3 small fish from this site to start my first tank, but I have a question about the process. Someone told me it is an $80 minimum order for livestuff. How do you do QT if you're supposed to QT one fish at a time?? I read you're supposed to totally clean out the QT between fish too. Seems impractical. I mean I would really like to support this site for all I've learned on the message boards, but should I have to order extra stuff that might end up dead just to get to $80 ?? With 3 fish that average less than $10 apiece, that leaves $50 more. Is a cleanup crew of little critters for a 30-gal tank going to be $50 ?? Is there a way to buy from here responsibly for a 30 gallon tank and what about the quarantine process?

The reason being is they arn't charging for the shipping, so in my opinion, depending on what your buying, at $80 they probably break even. The other option is to order from somewhere else that doesn't have a minimum but charges, so your pay the price for your 3 fish and $45. for shipping. If your talking about "3 small fish to start my first tank" in like cycling it, you would be better off dropping in a dead cocktail uncooked shrimp to cycle the tank. If you don't have anything in your tank and it's already cycled I wouldn't worry about quarintining the fish. I see that your talking less than $10 a piece for the fish, so if you are cycling the tank, you don't want to add any cleanup crew yet anyway.
Let us know what you doing?

Not for cycling. After cycling. Those 3 fish will be the only fish I plan on keeping in this tank. 1 Fridmani, 1 common clown, 1 pajama cardinal.

SWF.COM has said that it does not recommend QT'ing new fish from them as they are already QT'd. This does conflict with the majority but that's what they told me. Also, my case maybe an exception but the one and only time I ordered a fish from SWF.COM it was 3 inches larger than stated.

I can tell you that I have dealt with these folks a couple of times and imo most of their competition should be learning from them. Between quality of animals and service to the customer, they are second to none. I don't work for them. I'm retired and have plenty of time to look around.
