Ordering Live Rock online and shipping takes 3-5 days?? Is this ok?

buy some really nice cool looking pieces, then either buy base rock or some plain bland live rock cheap.....
When i set up my tank, i ordered online,,, wasnt bad i got some big pieces, but nothing spectacular looking,,,,wish i would have just gone to the guy taking down his tank though he was chargin $5 a lb but had some interesting pieces...(I ended up trading some to him for some nice stuff at 2-1 lbs...)

The advantage of buying from different sources is that you get more biodiversity. Also, people who are setting up new tanks tend to go overboard with how much LR they get, not taking into account, if you have reef tank, you will be adding a lot of corals and may not want to fill up 3/4's of your tank with rocks.
I would not buy LR that had a 5 day shipping. And if you are living where it gets real cold, I would also not buy shipped LR.
LR should be curred by you, no matter that you get it locally. Ideally you can QT for at least a few days and observe your rocks for pests that you will want to try and dispose of before it gets into your tank.

Its more different rock from different sources.
Some aquarist prefer to have a system that is actually representative of a region so that the tank has a more realistic look; however, if this does not matter to you, then yes, you can put whatever kinds of rock you want.
